I there any difference? I want to take it for stress induced brain damage after I read this:

http://insciences.or...article_id=6714

Should I get it at the health food store or get a script from my doctor? Also, at what dose would you to take it at to help facilitate the healing?

Is there any preference for one over the other?

Well, brain concentration of Lithium is higher after orotate (as opposed to carbonate) admininstration.
Haven't found much info on aspartate. I suggest trying out orotate first.

Additionally, it's a supplement, so there's no need to bother your doc for a script.

I take 5mg Lithium Orotate.

i also use 5mg orotate (dr best brand)... which was enough to have a very perceptible effect but not make me dopey.

Where I live Lithium is banned from being sold as a health supplement. I can order it online, or just get a prescription from my doctor for carbonate. The prescription would be much easier for me, but just knowing orotate and aspertate is sold over the counter makes it seem less toxic or something.

Maybe I need to switch brands. I've taken 120mg of orotate Advanced Research brand, and didn't feel anything..

Dosage is the same. 120 mg Lithium Orotate ~ 5mg elemental Lithium

There was discussion in the form of magnesium thread concerning orotic acid's possible effect on cancer cells. Nothing definite, and these amounts are even smaller than those involved in Mg supplementation.

But it may well be a factor worth considering, particularly if there aren't many other decisive differences between the salts.
