ImmInst Members can now moderate their own topics if they wish.

While not standard policy, this can be useful for reasons including:
  • Where you plan to frequently edit the first post (e.g. supplements regimes),
  • where you would like to maintain control over how a topic is formatted (e.g. example here),
  • or simply where you care deeply about a certain topic and don’t want it derailed by low-quality of topic posts.

To gain control of a topic, you have to be a member and must be the ‘threadstarter’ or have the threadstarters permission.

This is feature is in trial phase, please let us know what you think and don't be annoyed if it gets pulled.

I think this is a good idea. Many times I've wanted to edit my original post days later, but was unable. So we have to PM brainbox to moderate a topic? I'd be very happy if it happened automatically.

So then, was this pulled, or set for a limited time? If there is a way for us to grant this individually it seems like that might work best. We could grant it by request if the person isnt problematic.

This would be great for the regimen's forum. My regimen now is completely different from when I first posted.

no longer available after the upgrade.
We could re establish it, but interest in this wasn't that great.

Seems like a fair number of people took advantage of this in the regimen subforum. Was very useful to re-edit the first post with the current regimen, and maybe make a note about what had changed. Funk's thread is a great example of how this was used to good effect.

Was hoping to get around to making such a thread for myself this week, and am pretty bummed that this elegant feature won't be available...

Could you clarify for me whether this feature is available? The pinned topic re-appeared in the regimen subforum.

sorry, I had forgotten about that announcement. Not currently available.

People can edit their own blogs, so that could be a way of tackling the issue.

good news! I have found a way of implementing it (I hope).

So this is once again available for Members.
PM s123 or the Director on Duty with a link to the thread you want to moderate.

Wonderful! Thanks for figuring it out. I was trying to think of how I could effectively combine a regimen thread with blog posts, and it was getting a little convoluted.

I'll try to get my thread going in the next few days, and report back on how it works.

Is it a members-only option, like it was up in post #6?
