Check off All the names that you would go for. You can vote multiple times. There are so many suggestions that this is one of 3 polls because each one can only hold 75 options.

These names dont include the second half like, Institute, Foundation, Society etc... They are included at the end of part 3 of this poll. They may not even require a second half.

Any names that people feel are good that arent in this initial list can be voted in or added in to another poll when this series becomes narrowed down.

Ide like to make a plug here for the name "Imminence". When I created this poll I meant to include it but I put in "Imminent" instead of "Imminence".

Emergence was shot down because it sounds more transhumanistic than life extension, but Emergence had an edge that people were liking. Imminence to me seems to have the same edge as Emergence in it to me. Heres a definition of it at dictionary.com :

American Heritage Dictionary - Cite This Source - Share This im·mi·nence Audio Help (ĭm'ə-nəns) Pronunciation Key
n.
The quality or condition of being about to occur.
Something about to occur.

Its like Emergence, but leans more toward life extension than transhumanism to me. Does anybody like it or think the same? It can either be the name or a part of the name. I like imminst with the immortality institute part dropped, but its hard to say and doesnt sound like a word. Imminence has the added benefit of sounding like imminst.

So if anybody likes the name Imminence then a vote for Imminent in the poll is the same thing.

So, the winners of all these current polls will be then narrowed into future polls? I liked this poll better than the 'third' ;o) Is the explanation of the system/plan up anywhere?

Well, as elrond said, it most likely can not be used to formulate anything, because these types of polls are too easily manipulated. It might be good for getting a general idea, but any votes to narrow things down needs to take place in the full member forum, I would think.

I think it works good for going through and considering so many names one by one. Maybe it will at least help people to have a better idea of a name they want to put forth or vote for in elronds member poll. If none of these names ring a bell for anybody maybe thats a good way to show us that we really need to push harder to pop a new fresh name out of the alphabet somewhere.

I didnt realize that, like you guys said this poll would end up being manipulated. I see somebody has already gone and voted up Athanatos. And since you have to vote at least once in each of the other four they went and from what it looks like voted up things like gilgamesh and epoch of life too. There are three new members who have no replies in any threads but they have been here to this thread.

Although the general trends in votes should be at least some indicator of which way to go or not to go.

Ide like to make another plug here for "Imminence Foundation". It sounds like imminst and we could do slogan plays on words with "IF".

I think the poll is a little premature. We have hardly scratched the surface of all the possible names. With all the creative minds here, I am sure we can come up with hundreds more, a selection of which will be really good ones. When we do the poll it should be reversed. A process of elimination would be better. Vote for the worst ones to be removed.

Just by taking the keyword word “peak” for example you can create many more possible names. Let’s start combining keywords and introducing new keywords then eliminate all the worst names so that only the best remain.

enduring@peak

@peak era

@peak epoch

epoch@peak

perpetually@peak

@peakforever

At peak forever

lifespan@peak

extend@peak

epoch@peak

era@peak

abiding@peak

agelessness@peak

alwaysalive@peak

1000+@peak

longevity@peak

extremelongevity@peak

peak longevity

remain@peak

forever@peak

and so on ….

The same can be done for the word abiding for example

Abiding forever

Abiding longevity

Abiding agelessness

Always abiding life

Abiding lifespans

Abiding life era

Abiding life epoch

Abiding boundless life

Life abiding

Abiding rejuvenation

Abiding youth

Adding existence

Abide in life

Abide @ peak

And so on….. you get the idea

Maybe we should make a list of things a name should be, I would list these things that Ive seen sited around here or thought of as of yet:

-two syllables
-not directly descriptive
-not already registered
-agreed upon
-edgy
-something that will still fit and most everybody will be satisfied with when this organization is world renowned
-something thats alive and breaths in the minds of the people we are trying to reach
-to me you have to imagine yourself using it in a presentation to somebody and see if it fits when you imagine yourself presenting it.

What would you change or add to this list?

So far Im leaning toward:

Lifes Edge
Emergence
Imminence

to put down as my two choices in the new poll Elrond has put up, but Im going to have to think about it for a few more days. I think its a ten day deadline so make sure you get yours in.

Parts one and three have 28 votes while part 2 has 38. Im bumping these to see if any body who hasnt wants to keep voting in them. They keep my thoughts stirring on names.
