Maybe it was posted earlier, but it pays to highlight it again as it seems this is a very important step in advancing stem treatments.
QUOTE "These data are critical for advancing stem cell research leading toward therapies," Nolta said. "We've shown that adult stem cells follow natural cues to reach target locations, they function normally when they get there and do not exhibit the unchecked cell growth that is the hallmark of cancer."

Maybe it was posted earlier, but it pays to highlight it again as it seems this is a very important step in advancing stem treatments. QUOTE "These data are critical for advancing stem cell research leading toward therapies," Nolta said. "We've shown that adult stem cells follow natural cues to reach target locations, they function normally when they get there and do not exhibit the unchecked cell growth that is the hallmark of cancer." Critical time in the UK, just after the success of Moorfield Eye Hospital in restoring some function to several congenitally blind subjects using gene therapy, the country is abuzz with debating legislation aimed at widening the parameters of stem cell research, by our (now no longer a Jesus-tweeked and ego-distorted PM, but new prime minister Gordon Brown) aided by an informed Health Secretary, yet, dangerously this Bill is close to being torn down - due in most part to a petty attack on Brown's leadership by political opportunists, all citing their reactionary stances as` a vote of conscience' . Such is politics, I know, but this is cosmically unforgivable. As is the custom in pantomime, the Church, smelling the prospect of appealing to mass ignorance, stpped up to the lights with that ever hardy soundbite, `Frankenstein science' and up pipe a horde of strange looking pro lifers, from who knows where these freaks hail from... Cant believe it... we get rid of a self styled Jesus-fueled fool of a PM, while you still have yours, - we get a beautiful piece of legislation, for which 77% of the populace have expressed favour, and for political points, and the oneristic closed dialogue between clawing minor backbencher MPs and the media trumpeted false view of public opinion, all could be lost. Sorry to be offloading here... You have your own issues with the rule of the hindmost. Its hard to view exactly what biological mechanisms could be at work to keep two of the major nations on earth teathered to stone age idiologies. Perhaps it is something also treatable with stem cells... Now would be a very good time to find a cure for the Judaeo-Christian ontological dissorder {JC-OD} This post has been edited by omnidoom: 14-May 2008, 08:58 PM |
