I've been watching the web statistics of a few key organizations and have found that we get a *lot* of hits from this service called StumbleUpon.com. It's a toolbar that surfers use to be directed towards random websites based on their interests and ratings from fellow users of the software. Like Orkut, transhumanist-oriented ideas seem to be disproportionately popular among users of this service. Let's improve our situation by joining this service, navigating to our favorite websites, rating them with a "thumbs-up", and leaving a positive comment, shall we? It will take about 10 minutes of your time. The potential improvement in traffic could be enormous even if only 10% of the people reading this email step up to the plate.

Download the software here:

http://www.stumbleupon.com/

Here are some of the sites I gave positive ratings and comments (listed in random order):

http://www.longevitymeme.org
http://www.methuselahfoundation.org
http://www.foresight.org/NanoRev/
http://www.asimovlaws.com/
http://www.extropy.org/
http://www.accelerat...ure.com/michael
http://www.transhumanism.org/
http://www.imminst.org/
http://www.singinst.org/
http://www.betterhumans.com/

10 minutes of your time, that's all! Those 10 minutes could bring in many dozens or even hundreds of additional unique visitors to these sites, please consider downloading the software. I have the desperate tone to my language here because NO ONE on SL4, wta-talk, or exi-chat followed my advice when I recently posted to those lists. Many transhumanists complain about their next-door neighbor not getting these ideas, but aren't willing to invest 10 minutes on outreach efforts. C'mon, y'all!

Michael..

I've got to get a little more familiar with this.. but it seems to me that being able to 'communicate your surfing' while you surf to others is quite powerful. Although Orkut is interesting.. I think it takes away from 'information' gathering in that you have to distill what you have surfed and present it.. This mechanism makes the turnaround time for advocating and surfing amazingly fast..

Very interesting.. I hope we all download this handly little 'voting' mechanism..

and dont' forget about
http://www.longevitymeme.org and hopefully
http://www.methuselahfoundation.org :)

Yeah Kevin, this stuff is the wave of the future! I've added the LM and MM sites to the list above.

I like the idea

BTW what do people think of listing objects on ebay to gather pageviews counter numbers >100 are visible on the first page uv perhaps each category

keen too the way that different mind types are there too nifty place to find craftspersons O+ furniture collectors

Science things are popular too

aquarium decor items over 100 views
Asimov items do well with half a hundred pageviews per title
http://cgi.ebay.com/...6912318729&rd=1

plus if the thing matters views are tiltable
700 plus views NdFeB magnet item

idea list eleven items from your library or material presence on ebay, use the gallery feature to list imminst transhumn idea pages that link to imminst
gallery http://cgi.ebay.com/...3828235413&rd=1

listing items with the will bring up items that are near 1 USD GBP
http://cgi.ebay.com/...6911913321&rd=1
Bringing 700 people a peep at futurity at a 7GPB risk might be clever
