Dear ImmInst Members,

Fellow ImmInst Director, Susan Fonseca-Klein, and I are moving to D.C. within the next two months. Susan will be doing lobbyist work at a firm just a few blocks from the White House and I'll be starting a new biotech company with Ben Goertzel.

I'll post more detailed information (about the biotech company, etc) over the next few weeks. We plan to be in D.C. by mid-July... so if you're in town after then, let us know!

Unfortunately, we're unable to take our girls with us.

Separate from the biotech company I'll be working on with Ben Goertzel, Duane Hewitt and I have formed a for-profit genetic testing company called DNA Digital.

Well, I never took advantage of the fact that you're only three hours away from Atlanta, but now it'll be more like the better part of a day. Sorry to see you going, but from the looks of it, it's on to bigger and better things in our quest.

Best of luck!

Sounds pretty awesome! Are you going to be living in the city or in the surrounding area? I'm in northern VA. Would the biotech company have any internship positions(un paid) available for a marketing major?

Thanks, Jay.

As she's done thus far in Birmingham, Susan is sure to shine in D.C.

Thanks, Mrfesta.

We'll likely be living in or around the Dupont Cr. area (just North of the W.H.). With the new biotech company(BioLiterate), Ben and I are a few months away from needing help, but I'll be sure to remember your generous offer as the need arises.

Well you'll now be few miles closer to me [lol] , oh well, still overseas...

I hope everything will work out ok, and I wish I could help with taking care of the girls, but I suppose I can't, so I hope you'll find them a good warm loving home or reconsider.

Take care, you too.

Best luck in the new place.

Yours forever

Gee, Washington DC, possibly the preferential ground zero for freedom fighters the world over, oops, I called them freedom fighters. Guess I still haven't quite got the gist of the Orwellian tongue twisting.

Good luck to you and yours. Poor doggies are losing some superlative masters.

Geographical location may change but am sure you guys will continue to be happy up there, or from my location, down there in Washington D.C.(Talking about Washington, right?, lol I don't know the U.S map that well.). Also, I wish you and your colleague good luck with the company BJK. [sfty]

Post Script,

Do not mind the "Shifty" icon, I just like using it; Its my favourite hehe.

Step 1 in the plan to take over the world, I see. Hopefully you can get some milage out of proximity to a number of useful organizations...

Haha, it's funny that you insisted on Atlanta for the conference because it's close to you. But I suppose you're used to driving long distances for long periods of time. :)

As I just came home from an 7,000 mile (24 day) trip around the US for the film project, the 650 mile trip from D.C. to Atlanta is OK.

Happy moving. (lots of stress that)
Hope the new owner appreciates the warroom. Find a good home for the dogs.

There are a number of synergistic potentials in D.C. I look to leverage as many as possible in support of ImmInst's mission to overcome involuntary death.

I'll post more as things become more concrete.

Susan looks to form a Latin Affairs lobby group. You may have seen some of the news on CAFTA (Central Amer. Free Trade Agree). Susan grew up in Honduras and has a strong desire to help her native country an Central America.

Officially, Susan and I will be moving to Bethesda, MD on Aug 15, 2005. We'll live at The Grand. Ben Goertzel and I are starting up a D.C. Futurist Salon... so join us if you live in the area... and let me know if you plan a visit to D.C.

In DC you are going to be a lot closer to NY. It is a standard commute. Perhaps I will get to see you all in person more.

BTW I think what Susan is doing is wonderful and it is what I was training for BC (before children) :))

I think you are to be congratulated all around

See, i can smile... susan and i are now safely settled into North Bethesda, MD (just north of Washington DC). I've had the chance to have meet with Ben Goertzel and his wife, Isabella a few times as we move forward with BioLiterate. Susan and I plan to attend a Redskins game this Sun.
