Israeli transhumanists -

WTA member David Ish Shalom would like to pull together Israeli
transhumanists for a meeting to consider the creation of an Israeli
Transhumanist Association. He would like to get transhumanist materials
out in Hebrew, and there are many other activities a WTA could
undertake, from regular social events to providing the government of
Israel with a transhumanist point of view on public policy question such
as genetic and reproductive technology.

David is at: davidishalom1@fastmail.fm

I look forward to something coming together.

Perhaps you could invite Frida Fuchs-Simonstein, the author of
_Self-Evolution: Ethics of Redesigning Eden_?

That’s excellent news!

I am more of a traditional immortalist, and extreme transhumanist “cyborgism” is a little too unorthodox for me.

But I think it’s a great idea to have such an active organization. Hopefully, this will be a “synergy” with “a predominant biological component” and immortalist orientation.

I think I will apply. Thanks for the note!

Infernity, this is the above David Ish Shalom - not only your are allowed to attend such a meeting, you may even be honorary attendee. in the last couple of hours i have been inspecting first time IMMINST mainly to follow your thread, and was astonished to watch your creativity and spirited ingenuity. for sure you are far and large more capable than me in Enlish and web command and your chances to achieve immortality are far better then mine - i am 56 and you are marvellously 14 or 16 - and all the more so am i amazed by your productions and tendencies at that age. if you attend you may even turn to be a dominant figure in that yet unborne Israeli Transhumanist chapter. i look forward to talk with you if you just send your phone to: dishalom@zahav.net.il i have heard that you translated: "The Case For Immortatlity" by Bostrom, who is our chair and would like to integrate it in our site too. i have been talking today with Ilia about joining forces together Israeli imminst and israeli WTA [World Transhumanist Association] since our goals of abolishing aging and human enhancement to the benefite of humans are the same, albeit some variation and trends may be coexistent and favoured.
yours respectfully David Ish Shalom [lol]

Thank you David, well, I believe I am allowed by you guys to attend, otherwise Ph.D. Hughes wouldn't send me this e-mail heh.
What I meant is, I am after all 14, and I need the permission of my parents. I shall see if that's even possible...

My English is not too good if you look close at my grammar, probably because I don't second-read the posts anymore :\

What I've translated is "The Case Against Aging"... (and "The Fable of the Dragon-Tyrant", but that's probably not what you meant).
Check the added file, only the title is different because it was a part of a project I did. The original paper, can be found here

I'll contact you by e-mail soon.

Err gotta go
Cya

Yours truthfully

We’ll talk to your parents or will all sign a petition ;)

There is another problem. David is in Jerusalem, Alex in Haifa, Dany in Herzlia, I’m in Rishon, and you and others I don’t know where.

If people will be interested, I could get us all a room in Bar-Ilan. It might be more or less convenient for most.

wonderfull guys and gal and thank you for your welcome, but we, Israeli chapter of WTA have yet to organize and translate more material and non of us is as dynamic as Infernity, so it will take some time but surely we"ll convene and Bar Ilan as central place is fine, as far as i am concerned. thank you Infernity about your translation "The Case Against Aging" yet i think some improvement to the Hebrew translation is possible and we can share it. anyway, from now on i also joined you, and beleive we"ll join forces. by the way where do you live Infernity ? i will contact you. The date is not set yet. Meanwhile we are just trying to find out if people are interested. Surely, it will take more than 3 weeks to organize something.

Hi guys,

I don’t have much free time lately (I am working and looking for a theme for a thesis) but it is really great to see that you are trying to organize something. [thumb]

Shalom Alex, everybody....... Adi...

I'm Daniel, age: 20 - - currently residing in Ra'anana.
I'm a second year business-student at the "Hamerkaz Ha'ben'tchoomi" in Herzeliya , although in the last couple of months I've realized how much I dislike this field. I also study at the Open-University - - chemistry, physics & biology.
I volunteer as a medic at MADA; starting Med-School next year, and in consequence - will be moving to Beer-Sheva (Ben-Gurion University).

Would love to "le'argen" something. [thumb]

The immortalist-environment clamors for new M.Ds .. wouldn't you agree? besides, its been a life-long dream.
Hopefully I could enroll into a M.D / Ph.D program, but this is of less importance....

i just love people with "protectzyot" ; perhpas you have them in BGU ? [tung]

Hmmm, well I am yet not sure about it all... The extra facilities I am planning to do my 'bagroot' in are Biology and Physics.

I want to study many things... Economics is very important, I mean very very useful... so Economy, and Biology, probably, Chemistry sounds very very interesting, but I wonder how much it will benefit me, so maybe that too. So with philosophy. Biotechnology I wanna study, probably physics too.... grr so many things.

OH BTW GUYS! In Eilat there's a university that gives you THREE YEARS FREE OF CHARGE!!!! That's a new thingy I heard of, still in processes, they shall add many classes!

I strongly believe that a degree in biomedical sciences is the career choice for an immortalist.

I would check with caution those new universities that have been springing up recently. Three years free sounds a little fishy. Some (perhaps most) of those new institutions don’t give credible (or respectable) degrees. I would stick with the 7 recognized ones. BGU is certainly an excellent school! I heard about the plan to found the 8th university in Eilat, but that will probably take longer than building the railway there [glasses]

Hello everyone,

I read David Ish Shalom's proposal and stumbled upon this site while googling for more information.

I would very much like to attend the meeting and I'm willing to help organizing it and to participate in further efforts.

PS: I apologize but I will probably not be able to participate in the forum during regular weekdays.

Are you from Israel? Or to be precise, could you attend such meeting? If you would- that's awesome!

We yet don't have a date, and nothing is set. You follow the Israeli forum, and when something shall be arranged, you'll know.

Thanks
