Lots of information on divorce rates among different groups in the United States:
http://www.religious...rg/chr_dira.htm

A few of the interesting facts:
* 11% of the adult population is currently divorced.
* 25% of adults have had at least one divorce during their lifetime.
* Divorce rates among conservative Christians were significantly higher than for other faith groups, and for Atheists and Agnostics.

I found that last statement interesting. Among faith groups, the more conservative, the more likely to divorce, and among all people, the less religious you are, the less likely you are to divorce.

Interesting.

Also, people in the Northeast seem to be the least likely to divorce. (and the older someone is, the less likely they are to divorce):

Where did those stats come from? The site itself is biased.

The figures are not (to my knowledge) in dispute.

Here is a slightly more colorful account of these kind of differences.

Well, being from the South I can say not everyone from here fits those stereotypes, but there are a lot that do.

I'm sure pal, and being from nyc I can say the same.

[sarcasm]But i'm not one of those guys--if you want to have your fried chicken and grits convention in NYC, that's cool. Just keep it in midtown.[/sarcasm]

Lol. I have had grits a grand total of 1 time in my life and didn't care for them that much. They are definitely popular though, as is sweet tea. (you get funny looks if you don't get sweet tea at most places) Oh, and we say coke when we mean soda or pop. :))
