The table (scroll down) does not paste well.

He is way under on folic acid and more chromium would probably be a good idea, but overall very good recommendations.

He also speaks of alkaline water.

...I can't find anything reliable, in regard to sources, on the benifits of alkaline water. The "good" information is from retailers of water ionizers and a few critics will say it's the worst thing you can put in your body.

pH is a different animal and my opinion is that alkaline water is great--IF one's body tends to be too acidic as mine does. If you tend to be too alkaline it would be a bad thing.

See metabolic typing:

etc.

Meh, I don't want to pay $40 to take an automated 10 minute e-survey... what are the basic ideas? Any way to do this for free?

For example, the only questions I answered that were "different" than "no problem" or "average" were:

slight frame, craves salt, great digestion, only hungry at night, skipping meals changes nothing but hunger, doesn't get angry

Scottl, do you know what any of these answers mean? Thanks

LOL I think there is a free questionairre(sp?) on mercola's site. No idea how accurate it is. I acually flew to the bay area and had the bloodph guy do the full workup. Not suggesting anyone else do the same. If you google metabolic typing you'll find a number of sites and if you are classic for one of the types you may get the idea.

No I'd have to look the stuff up.

NB: this ain't the standard pH stuff one reads about where all vegies are alkalinizing.....

Oh and FWIW Cancer patients are apparently (usually) very ALKALINE so they would do best with ascorbic acid not mineral ascorbates and should not use the alkaline water.

Scott,

What about saliva or urine pH tests? Are they of any value in determining your blood pH ?

Do you own a water ionizer?

PS: Can someone send a link to a free metabiolic typing questionaire? I took one from Life Extension that binned you to either protein/fat metabolic dominated, carbohydrate dominated, or a mixture. I fit solidly in the carbohydrate metabolic basket.

Lemon,

Noo the whole point of calling it bloodph (as I understand it) is that urine is not sufficient.

I am one of the protein/fat people which is why I would make a terrible vegetarian. You on the other hand (if the questionaire is valid and you fit solid into the carb camp) sound like a better candidate for vegetarian.

I have thought about it, but one can balance one's pH using food alone (if one is so willing) and the ionizer is like....forget if it was $800 or $1000 so I besically would not bother. In your case...it might even be a bad idea (again I'm not sure if it is as simple as carb type=alkaline).

Anyway, for you I would strive to eat low glycemic but a more veggie type diet and see how you feel. If your body likes it and you feel good, I wouldn't worry about the ph stuff.

Yeah... like my unsweetned organic soymilk (well from the store that is... I skake a tad of stevia in it) I pour over my morning cheerios in lieu of cow's milk.

Oh get over it! The litre of freshly brewed organic white tea I drink throughout the day more than makes up for any spike in blood sugar from my cheerios. Also, I take K-RALA in the morning and these spikes are pretty much co-incident.

Now if I drank OJ in the morning... whoa nellie !!!

Lemon you are a big boy and are free to eat as you please. But to convince yourself that cherios is anything other then junk is silly.

Spiking insulin is bad (as you must know) and tea does not make up for it.

You can have the last word.
