Speculative Nanobots:
Medical Species :: by Tim Fonseca
This scene is a variation on my Robot Brain Enhancers idea. The nanobots are green, this time. The central cylinder houses a computer, that contains a storehouse of information equalling many large libraries, and instruments for recording "surface" thoughts. Millions of these nanobots are in contact with one another, and with brain cells, creating a secondary gestalt mind.
If the "brain enhancer" nanobots can receive radio signals, from a distance, then a kind of mental telepathy is possible between people

Cell Wall Dockers with tentacles:
Why have I called these Stationary nanobots? One of the problems with using arterial submarine-like nanobots, is that the very fast flowing blood/plasma current would push them downstream, out of control. One way to solve this problem is to have some of the nanobots stick to the walls of arteries by using sticker feet; hence StickerBots.
In this image, my StickerBots have tentacles instead of Lasers. The tentacle are very quick, and flexible, and are used for capturing dangerous pathogens. The tentacles retract into the body of the Stickerbot when they are not in use. The pathogens are deposited inside the StickerBots barrel body, for examination, and disposal.
Barber Nanobots
Thousands of micro-robots scuttle over the surface of your skin, in quest of hairs to trim. The "BarberBots" would be pre-programmed from a desktop gadget, that would contain a bunch of pre-set, "Hair Style", configurations to choose from. Just press the Mohawk pre-set buttons, and the micro-bots will obey. Would they tickle, and could they be used for dog grooming?
