I am excited to announce the next guest of the Sunday evening chat: world famous transhumanist, futurist, and co-founder of Betterhumans - George Dvorksy! Background info here and here.
The chat time is 6:30 p.m. central time U.S., Sunday November 18th. This will once again be an IRC chat. For directions on how to log into the Imminst chat room see here.
FYI: Imminst leadership has been experimenting with skypecast for the Sunday evening chat and hope to implement this in the near future. This will allow a voice chat/interview to be ongoing as well as text chat. Also, the next chat (Sunday November 25th) will be earlier, around 3:00 p.m. in order to make the chat more accessible for European members. I will present an exact time once the guest is determined.

I haven't been able to get into the chats because I keep getting this message:
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Does anyone know how to fix this?
Are you 1) allowing the certificate when you first click on it, 2) allowing javascript, 3) sure you aren't behind a firewall, and 4) allowing popups? If yes to all of those, then I don't have any further ideas. I bet it is the javascript thing though (or you didn't allow the certificate).

yeah definately big problems connecting:
From the javaclient:

On xchat I get:

* Connection failed. Error: Connection timed out
Cycling to next server in imminst...
* Disconnected ().
* Looking up irc.extropy.org
* Connecting to spock.extropy.org (209.115.169.3) port 6667...
* Connection failed. Error: Connection timed out
Yet I have no problems connecting to EFFnet and Afternet.

The IRC server (lucifer.com) is down and I won't have access to reboot it until tomorrow. We'll have to come up with alternate plans.

IRC server is back up as of a few minutes ago. We may be in luck after all.
