....getting closer....

Yes indeed.

Legit Reviews, a historically significant team that represents a good hardware & technology site, is cranking out a respectable PPD, at ~147,000.

The Legit Reviews team is moving forward and is currently positioned at Rank 100.

According to EOC stats, The Longevity Meme is predicted to pass the Legit Reviews team in about four months. Likely, Legit Reviews will have advanced considerably by then.

In the Legit Reviews forum, there is a topic called "Holding off Upcoming Teams" which names The Longevity Meme as their third most serious threat.

So, the moral of this story is:

Threaten the rank position of the big teams and get noticed! ;)

Haha, we might need a thread like that here as well. The Taiwan team appears as if it will pass us in 3 weeks, and I am sure there are others behind them. (and others that will appear which haven't even been formed yet)

Not sure really what you could do to hold off another team short of sabotage, though.

According to EOC Stats today we are only 2.7 weeks away from entering the top 100.

If you check the early part of this thread you will find the estminated time to reach the top 100 (before the F@H prize began) was 2014-07-01! We really kicked some @ss this year. We should plan some sort of celebration when we reach the top 100, somewhere between December 10th and 15th.

Another thing to be proud of is that our team has the highest percentage of active contributors, generally around 25%, and yesterday we had 97 active contributors and that was a little over 26%. Great job everyone. Maybe we could plan another celebration when we reach 100 active contributors.

In order to see similar improvement in 2009 (and the second year of the prize - begins April 1st) we will have to continue working hard. I am also eying some additional funding to bump up the prize money by a couple hundred dollars each quarter.

GREAT TEAMWORK EVERYONE!

Top 100. That's pretty awesome! More funding would be great Mind. I say we shoot for top 25 by end of 2009 and top 10 by end of 2010. Call it the TenByTen Initiative.

Yes, good observation Mind.

The Longevity Meme (TLM) team has consistently had relatively high numbers of active participants.

I am also eying some additional funding to bump up the prize money....

Excellent! I'm sure the team appreciates this vote of confidence.

GREAT TEAMWORK EVERYONE!

Yes, thanks to the dedicated folders of the TLM team.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

We should plan some sort of celebration when we reach the top 100, ...

It will be a tough battle if the team makes it by Christmas, or even by end-of-year.

The TLM is now ranked #101, but before TLM passes the next team (Xtreme Resources) in ~2.7 weeks:

- Team FTL is predicted to pass us in 2.2 weeks.

This will set TLM back to Rank 102 (with two teams between TLM and Top 100).

FTL_Pass.jpg
............Original image from EOC.

Looks like it will be ~ 3.6 weeks to get past team "Mac Folders.... " to The Top 100.

This could be a close one. Everyone, Gun your Folding Engines:

- Fire up your computer, leave it running 24/7.

- Get those notebook/laptops folding.

- Ask relatives or friends to help out .

- Those with performance CPUs & GPUs crank up the overclock :~

The Longevity Meme can make into the Top 100 by Christmas.

Let's Fold!

Hello,

It's been awhile...

Current tracking for the team to reach #100 is 10am, December 23rd, 2008. It's going to be a great Christmas present !!!

The team is currently ranked #57 when it comes to PPD.

The next milestones are:
#90......2009-02-15
#80......2009-07-07
#75......2009-10-06
#70......2010-05-18

But, as noted above, originally we were to get to top 100 only around 2015! So, with the momentum the team has, I'm sure #50 is within our reach before next X-mas come...

Fold on, I will!

Maciek.

It is always interesting to read your predictions.

I believe you said they are based on Kaokao stats?

These show the difficulty of moving through the higher ranks:

The next milestones are:
#90......2009-02-15
#80......2009-07-07
#75......2009-10-06
#70......2010-05-18

I'm sure #50 is within our reach before next X-mas come...

The team has demonstrated how it can rise. Likely the enthusiasm and dedication of TLM members will continue.

The F@H game should be interesting in 2009.

Fold on, I will!... Maciek.

Thanks Maciek.

I say we shoot for top 25 by end of 2009 and top 10 by end of 2010.

Thanks Maestro, that is very Aggressive goal.

With increased F@H prize funding, this just might be in order.

The team is in motion and ready to forge ahead. Let's work out a strategy and go for it.

Early in my career, I had a great leader who said:

"A faint heart never seduced the cook".

Call it the TenByTen Initiative.

That's a good battle call :)

I think we can, need, and will be in the top ten by this summer. Thats just an intuitive prediction, but I like to throw them out there for the fun of it. Any other predictions besides this summer and 2010?

The team is currently ranked #57 when it comes to PPD.

I don't want to spoil the fun, but our PPDs are constantly declining compared to the other teams IIRC. I know I'm guilty too (my PPD are now lower than they used to be due to various problems) ... I'll try to fix that come 2009 =)

"A faint heart never seduced the cook."... ... what's the meaning?

Faint hearted - lacking conviction or boldness or courage;

Seduce - 1. To lead away from duty, accepted principles, or proper conduct

....2. To induce to engage in sex

A few years ago, in the region where I was employed most cooks were female.

Our leader, myself, and most of my colleagues were male.

thanks for the explanation. didn't realize most cooks there are female (unlike nurses, grade school teachers etc) i'd have understood if your leader said "a faint hearted man never seduced a woman"

I'm not folding as much , only running on 1 new laptop, but will step it up 09-10 .

Top 10 by end of 2010!

Man, I wish there was some good way to celebrate this once it happens. Im trying to think of ways right now, I wish we could get the ustream channel to play in the forums uninterupted as the person switches from topic to topic and forum to forum. Then we could hold commercials in there, we could update urgent things in there, and we could do things like hold a live party in there where people talk about it live as its happening and the members can listen as they browse.

No time for celeberations, we want the top ten by 2009 or 2010, don't we?
Seriously top 5x for 2009 at least, we need to prepare a battle plan, recruitment, some adjustments to the prices maybe and tweaking individual PPDs may help.

On the hardware side if anyone is looking to upgrade then now might be the time to move away from Nvidia cards to more effectively tackle the new 57xx work units. I'm down about 2,000 points a day now.
