I've watched half so far and it's pretty good.

This is an excellent presentation by Professor Pande. Michael, thanks for the referral.

Some topics covered:

- Petascale computing (10^15 FLOPS) and what it may mean for biology/chemistry work.

- Processing power of F@h greater than top five super computers combined.

- Value of F@h folding contributions:

(hundreds of millions of dollars).

- Efficiency of F@h greater than supercomputers (GFLOPS/Watt).

- Top contributors consider F@h a hobby

(compared to hot-rodding a car in years past).

- Upcoming challenge, storing and making F@h available data to other researchers.

Currently have ~0.5 petabytes of storage

Will need 10 petabytes of storage

Rule of thumb: Need one petabyte per year per petaFLOP.

Solution: May be Storage@home (distributed storage)

Top diseases under consideration:

- Viral Infections (lipid vesicle fusion related)
- Alzheimer's Disease (Protein-folding related)

I have only watched the first few minutes as of yet, but it is very interesting so far. Thanks very much for posting.
