I found your simple supplement regime very interesting. First, because I admire "simple" too, but haven't got there yet. Second, because many of the things, I thought I was hitting pretty heavy, you hit even harder. Omega3's EPA/DHA -5.4 g/day vs 3 g/day, Vitamin K -15 mg vs 1 mg., TMG 1.2 g vs 1 g.

I like how simple it is to use Jarrow's Homocysteine formula. And your high potency fish oil is a great way to get plenty of Omega3's.

One question-why do you take Nattokinase in addition to fish oil?

Thank you very much for showing your regime.

To david ellis on TMG dosage, some believe (Roger Mason from this link) that you need 3g at least initially:

I have yet to look for the studies he mentions (but doesn't provide links to) to see how much they used. I'm been taking 1g in the mornings myself.

I used Jarrow Homocysteine PF in the past, but now mostly youngagain's "Better Homocysteine" for the price and I already have a supply of TMG. One of the few things I still order from them. Another excellent combo is Source Natural's Metafolin, Sublingual Coenzymated P5P, and Sublingual Coenzymated MethylCobalamin. Do you consume much coffee and have you had your homocysteine levels tested?

Addison,

I use Vitamin K to stop nose bleeds. and I use topical Vitamin's K's to remove bruises. But I am wondering why you need 15 mg of Vitamin K? Does it break up clots?

Addison,
My LDL decreased 30% and my HDL increased 13%. I think what did it was the 13 mgr/Kg a day of resveratrol I'm taking.
I see you are already taking 900 mgr a day. You could increase by 300 mgr and retest after a few months.

It is very strange. A Inverted U shape curve of HDL vs resveratyrol?

No on the coffee. However, I have hypothyroid, which puts me at a 50% risk for abnormally elevated homocysteine levels.

The Vitamin K is in there as insurance against hypercalcemia, because I had been on 50,000 IU per day of vitamin D for cancer prevention and inflammation control. It is my understanding from the research that Vitamin K2 prevents vascular calcium buildup.

.

Regarding the vitamin d I have read that there might be an inverted u curve. Have you ever tested your blood level ? Lef has cheap and easy test you can order online.

Also regarding the vitamin k, the mk-4 you are taking has a half life of only 1 hour. Might I suggest adding mk-7 also as it has a half life of 24 hours. So 100mcg of mk-7 might be more potent than 15mg of mk-4.

Excellent. Thanks for sharing. I was curious about what you took.

No pomegranate extract?

I had thought that the whole "fruit and berry" extract scheme was a racket. I might have been wrong.
I'm not finding enough in a cursory glance through pubmed to really strongly support taking it as an extract.

The research support for pomegranate juice is very good. I take a pomegranate extract that has the same phytonutrient ratios as pomegranate juice:

"P40p's advantage over competitive pomegranate products is that P40p is standardized to the water soluble punicalagins and has the exact ratio of phytochemical markers as occur in pomegranate juice."
