Here's my situation, I'm 20, have had ADD since I was 6-7, and am always extremely scatter-brained and often find myself falling behind in school. I've tried adderal/ritalin to no avail. I've tried other noops, but I have stomach issues and some of them really hurt my stomach. So I want to try deprenyl. What's a good dosing for me? Is it weight dependent? Where do you recommend getting it? From what I've read on here, it seems people prefer the liquid selegiline for dosing ease. I've also read about taking it with orange juice as the citric acid can help carry it through the blood/brain barrier. Any advice, recommendations? Thanks.

For longevity purposes, conventional wisdom seems to be 1mg per day. (some suggest starting @ 40 yrs old, but i disagree and I take it @ 23) For treatment of clinical disorders higher doses are used in the range of 5mg. Playing with your neurochemistry is a dangerous business when you don't have someone watching you and monitoring your progress (even an informed friend would help, but a doctor is of course preferable). Also remember it takes a month to appreciate the effects, so don't increase your dose until that point. 1mg per day is pretty safe though. Make sure you read all the contradictions if you don't have a doctor and read through them 3 times if you are taking a high dose. Any dopamine stimulating drug (weed included) should be avoided.

So, wait. According to this, no alcohol at all while using selegiline? :)

They don't seem to list anything other than "Selegiline can cause side effects which may impair your thinking or reactions." I've grown rather attached to my one glass of red wine per day ...

When selegiline is taken at doses of 10 mg or less per day for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, there are no restrictions on food or beverages you eat or drink. However, the chance exists that dangerous reactions, such as sudden high blood pressure, may occur if doses higher than those used for Parkinson's disease are taken with certain foods, beverages, or other medicines. These foods, beverages, and medicines include:
...
# Alcoholic beverages or alcohol-free or reduced-alcohol beer and wine.
# Large amounts of caffeine-containing food or beverages such as coffee, tea, cola, or chocolate.
...
Also, for at least 2 weeks after you stop taking this medicine, these foods, beverages, and other medicines may continue to react with selegiline if it was taken in doses higher than those usually used for Parkinson's disease.

It seems that @ 1mg / day you are probably fine. An excerpt from a page on ENSAM (trans dermal selegiline).

Alcohol

The pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of alcohol (0.75 mg/kg) alone or in combination with EMSAM 6 mg/24 hours for 7 days of treatment was examined in 16 healthy volunteers. No clinically significant differences were observed in the pharmacokinetics or pharmacodynamics of alcohol or the pharmacokinetics of selegiline during co-administration. Although EMSAM has not been shown to increase the impairment of mental and motor skills caused by alcohol (0.75 mg/kg) and failed to alter the pharmacokinetic properties of alcohol, patients should be advised that the use of alcohol is not recommended while taking EMSAM.

What would the side effect/contradiction be between a dopamine stimulant (cannabis) and selegiline at 1mg ?
