Death it around us.. With over 6000 registered users we can expect that it touches someone from this community daily(?)
It just did touch my family today. Because of that I propose that we should start counting people we have lost.
People that we knew, and were not able to help. Let it be a sorrow reminder why we are here.

So when you lose someone you knew.. add persons initials in this topic. And don't write about anything else here. Just initials.

S.P.W.

Your death continues to keep the disdain we feel for the uselessness of the nature of aging and the ways of the grim reaper boiling in our blood. They say that anger is a more useful tool than despair, and in that light at the very least, your death is not in vain. Im sorry we couldnt make it to the breakthroughs in time for you. We march on. We are doing what we can to get this cause through to the world just as fast as we can, and we'll miss you.

D.W.M

My great uncle Dan was shot in the spine during Vietnam. He was paralyzed for life. He received the purple heart and the bronze star. The bronze star means that when your attacked you move toward the enemy. My uncle Dan was shot twice and he kept going, he kept moving toward the enemy, fighting. Im so god damn proud of my Uncle Dan. Im so god damn sad that aging has dragged him so mercilessly now into the abyss. I only hope we can all continue to be lead by examples like his and move on to the next levels and fight these bigger foes with as much bravery and unwavering determination as people like him.

A few things I heard at the funeral that struck me were, one was my grandma saying, "Another one from our block. Well, we're all going I guess."

Another guy was talking to a lady who was probably in her 70s or 80s, very white hair, very aged looking skin, and he said something along the lines of, "I didnt recognize you." She commented on its because shes so much older and he said, "Well you havent aged that bad." I thought that was an interesting perspective. "That bad." Its like, your under assualt, but the wounds arent that bad yet.

People try hard to pretend aging isnt real or happening at funerals, but I find they can rarely contain it. They know that something is wrong here. I see funeral homes filled with people just dying for people like us to bring this message to them. I see fighters like my uncle Dan in us all and I beleive that one day not to long from now this will be a world movement.

We're coming for you guys, we're coming for you. Full steam ahead.

Aging has torn the following from my life:

My two grandmothers I knew and two grandfathers I sadly never met.
Various old ladies on the estate I spoke to as a child who were really nice to me and got taken by old age...can think of five off the top of my head.
My neighbour a month or so ago, also age related. Such a lovely man he was too.

Daily I see this vile blight on humanity eating away at people I love as well as random souls in the streets bent and crippled by aging. I remember one day when I saw an unkempt old man in the city shuffle past in slippers. I don't know for certain whether or not he had dementia but I'll never forget how he looked lost and wandered in appeared to be a laboured and not wholly comfortable way past us. Just one of many reminders of aging and how horrible it really is. :(
