Hi everyone,I'm new here, but am excited to get involved.I have an important question I think must be answered. How do you bring the idea of immortality to a public audience? If and when it becomes a possibility, the implications this has on all of us on an existential level is immense. Here are some of the observations I've seen in this forum (no way complete )Many of the posts I've read are:- written by intelligent, forward thinking individuals- written by people willing to address complex philosophical issues- contributed by people who are outspoken atheists (might be a stretch, but I think you can understand the implication)- written by people who are willing to look past visceral instincts and formed ideas, like what's inherently good or evil, does this conflict with my religious beliefs? There are a few reasons I think this question is important:1. Looking at some of the research out there (I'm particularly fascinated by Aubrey de Grey's SENS research with the Methuselah foundation), the possibility definitely exists. But I don't think it could ever be relevant in human society if it isn't backed by your everyday person who isn't as intellectually stimulated (not a dis )2. I think it also helps us distill our ideas and beliefs into more tangible and simply expressed morsels. So, ok. Here's the question again:How would you explain this idea of life extension to your average person? How would you garner support from your average person? What do you think are the main roadblocks to make widespread support happen? - and what are your ways around it?How do you address many of the common existential issues in a way that's digestible?I guess that's more than one question.Anyways. I look forward to your responses. And it's good to be a part of this allCheersMark
