I'm experiencing joint issues currently, when I'm doing a direct tricep work when it's flexed or at the tension of the work-out (or-peak) i feel a pop or so, but the pop isn't just a natural pop it's like a joint-pop I feel the right tricep pop from the muscle but directly in the elbow. Can I supplement on anything besides glucosamine?

Thanks!

Try to vary your tricep exercises. Find one or more that don't cause a pop. You may have to do them veeeeery slowly to avoid the pop.

Afraid I don't have any answers for you, but I've been considering some sort of Glucosamine product too. I think my neck is slowly falling apart sometimes...

From what I can tell, Glucosamine sulfate would be the preferred form. Chondroitin might help by being in the same product, but I don't think there is any data showing chondroitin alone being of any benefit. And there are also potential issues (albeit probably minor) with glucosamine possibly raising fasting glucose levels.

As for MSM, it's intriguing. Is there any negative data or health risks from MSM? Any drug interactions?

I've also seen supposed joint benefits listed for SAM-e, Astaxanthin and silicon (such as Biosil), but I don't know if those are just marketing claims or if they have actual science behind them.

Without seeing it, it is hard to tell what's going on. Evening seeing it might not clarify things. It sounds like a mechanical problem. Something that might be similar is "snapping hip", a runners problem: a tendon slides over the trochantar bursa, gets caught up onthe protrusion, and with continued motion "pops" free. Ths is not really a problem unless there is associated inflammation, and the treatment is anti-inflammatories such as NSAIDs. It the popping is more akin to knucke cracking, it is due to cavitation of the synovial fluid on expansion of the joint space. This too is harmless.

In your situation, if there were no pain associated with this, I wouldn't worry about it. If there is pain, I would use anti-inflammatories for relief. Perhaps execising the tricep with less range of motion would alleviate the condition.

I'm not sure glucosamine would help with your particular problem. It did wonders for my knees and ankles, and still does 11 years later (otherwise I'd have stopped running 11 years ago). However, you've described an issue without attendant pain.

It would be prudent for you to avoid training to failure or making a big jump in weight when doing triceps exercises for the time being. I've lifted regularly for a few years, and things like you have described have been warning signs of an impending injury for me. Consider taking a week off upper body lifting.

Vitamin d
vitamin e
vitamin c
vitamin k
manganese
boron
Biosil- very improtant
glycine
proline
magnesium
glucosamine SULPAHTE only
omrga 3's

best to take a holistic approach and take things that are involved in collagen production.

Also stop doing isolation exercises. They are hard on the joints as is.

look into foam rolling
