NO NO, not at once. That's not what I'm asking lol. I recently quit taking adderall b/c of it's horrible neurotoxic and lethargic effects. I'm happy with my simple nootropic/smart stack now, but it would be great to find a safe replacement for adderall. I have been reading up on Deprenyl's effects in essentially amplfying the signals in the brain giving you an amphetamine-like effect.

So... I posted this to ask if anyone has taken both drugs at different times in their life and can tell me how well Deprenyl compares to the neurological strength/feeling that Amphetamines gave you.
(i.e., did taking Deprenyl feel the same to you and/or have the safe effect on you as taking Amphetamines?)

Deprenyl might, might, might be potentiating my dextroamphetamine. Today I have not taken dextroamphetamine yet (it's 10:31 AM in Seattle) and I'm doing fine. A bit hyper. moving around quite a bit, and a harder time focusing than I should have, but this is the real me. This isn't rebound. I don't believe I feel rebound when I stop taking dextroamphetamine for a day. I have felt slightly lethargic (on my days off) before but for some reason, not today, and all I've had is one cup of green tea, a banana, and some toast with peanut butter, I even forgot to take my vitamins this morning (Actually, it wasn't a case of forgetting, I simply did not have the time for it as I was almost late to work) ;) I did get my customary one drop of sublingual, liquid deprenyl.

I am a bit too cautious at this point to try higher amounts of deprenyl till I know that liquid, sublingual deprenyl delivery is safe at higher doses from producing the cheese effect e.g. tyramine-induced hypertensive crisis. There is some information this is the case but I will wait for someone like LifeMirage to state his opinion before proceeding with such an attempt.

I have found that severe insomnia/agitation accompanies the dosages necessary to get the effect you are describing from Deprenyl. And I am not talking about transient insomnia, Deprenyl's stimulating effects last for about 2 weeks, read that carefully before trying high dose Deprenyl.

I have tried both Adderall and Deprenyl before. The effects were in no way similar for me. I was taking Deprenyl at 5mg/day and after a couple weeks starting developing severe agitation and anxiety. In fact, it also made my focus and memory worse. I quit taking the Deprenyl, and after a period of time, the effects subsided. I will never try Deprenyl at that dose again. I myself, would not suggest taking any more than 5mg a week if you're in your twenties or younger. I believe Deprenyl to be a much better life-extension drug than an ADD drug.

Thanks for the replys guys. I've thus decided not to take Deprenyl, but instead ask my doctor to perscribe Strattera. I was reading about that last night and it's not a stimulant. Rather, it's a NRI which apparantly should allow more dopamine to be released in the frontal portion of the brain. I've read that by its blocking effect, it can create increased anger though. But for me that would be a good thing. Why? Well when I was young I was pretty fat and the anger I developed from the teasing at school worked wonders on my body in the gym. But now that I'm in shape and engadged, I don't have the same "drive" anymore to workout. I still want to workout to be healthy, but I can't maintain my motivation to get me in the gym every day. So hopefully this drug would kill two birds with one stone - i.e., (1) allow my body to release more dopamine in the frontal part of my brain; (2) get me angry about something which I can then vent out at the gym.
