Immortality Institute Members Approve $8,000 Matching Grant For Cryonic Suspension.

William O’Rights, a long time and lifetime member of the Immortality Institute and supporter of cryonics is suffering from cancer. He has beaten the odds and outlived all of the expert medical predictions but is still in poor health. He continues treatment but the odds are not in his favor.

In the case that William O’Rights should meet an untimely death, it is hoped he can still live to see another day through cryopreservation. Because of certain events in recent years, he is in poor financial condition and is in need of assistance to purchase a cryonic suspension from the Cryonics Institute. To this end, the Society For Venturism has set-up a charity effort to raise money for a proper suspension – which is approximately $30,000 USD. The fund is now up to nearly half of the money needed but time is short. In order to speed along the donation process, members of the Immortality Institute have approved an $8,000 matching fund for an O’Rights suspension. If the money is completely matched, it will bring the charity suspension fund up to approximately $30,000.

The Immortality Institute has worked hard over the past years to end suffering and save lives through healthy life extension advocacy. It has sponsored scientific conferences, provided scholarship money to researchers, and maintained an open web forum for all topics related to life extension, among many other projects. Join the Institute in this groundbreaking effort to provide an alternative route to defeating cancer. Set the example that all hope is not lost when diagnosed with a terminal illness.

You can donate to this effort by sending a check, payable to the “Society For Venturism” to:

Society For Venturism
O’Rights Cryo-Fund
11255 SSR 69
Mayer, AZ 86333
U.S.A.

You can also donate here: http://www.quantium.....com/venturist/. There is a Bill O’Rights Google donation box in the middle of the page. All the money collected by the Venturists (or elsewhere, see next) will be matched by the Immortality Institute up to $8,000.

You can also donate through paypal to the Imminst administered account orights.cancer.cryonics.fund@gmail.com, with an attached note specifying it is to go toward the cryonic suspension. This account is also used to collect donations for cancer fighting supplements and therapies.

Throughout this ordeal the Immortality Institute and William O’Rights have discussed the many approaches to treating and dealing with cancer. This information is intended to help not only Mr. O’Rights but also all of those who are currently battling cancer or might have to face it in the future. Mind, you wrote, "You can donate to this effort by sending a check, payable to the “Society For Venturism”, Umm, I don't think that to be very wise. I think all the donations should go into the fund this organization set up. Then that can be sent to the Society For Venturism with the matching donation. That would be the best way to verify the donations. Let's not use the Society For Venturism and count on them to finacially track this. I don't want there to be any, ahhh, confusions or difficulties surrounding this. I want to emphasize that using the Society For Venturism is NOT the Preferred Method.

At some point in time I will be trying to get involved and help in the fund raising effort. Those discussions will happen in the following thread, CI or Die, http://www.imminst.org/forum/index.php?sho...st&p=286586

Anyone wanting to actively help, please let me know in the above thread.

First of all, if people use the Google donation box on the Venturists homepage there should be little confusion as who the money is for. I suspect most of the money will be collected through the Imminst paypal account or the Google account. Also, all the money will end up in their account anyway, adding to what they have already collected. I have full confidence that the Venturists will be able to keep track of the donations for your suspension. Shannon is in frequent contact with them and I am sure she will make sure everything is accounted for properly.

Does that mean every dollar they collect will be used toward the matching fund from Imminst?

If all the donations that go there automatically get counted then there will not be any confusion. Otherwise, someone who might donate from let's say the cyonet might not know of the matching fund. But if the matching fund kicks in automatically, I don't see that there is any issue.

Actually Shannon should let Dave Pizer know about the matching fund. Dave wanted, or at least he did in the past, to handle the fund raising there.

I put up a new front page article regarding the matching grant, so if people are asking about it, you can point them to this forum or the article. I put an $8,000 speedometer in the article to keep track of donations. Looks like we are hitting the gas pedal pretty good out of the starting gate. Already up to $1090.00 (13.6%), but we need to get out and promote this more if we are to succeed.
