Deadline for this call is Friday June 30th 2006, but early submissions are strongly encouraged.

Background:
In 2002, the Immortality Institute, a registered not-for profit, grassroots organisation, published its first book, "The Scientific Conquest of Death", an anthology of essays on the science and philosophy behind a potential drastic extension of lifespan. The book has been a good success for the Institute. After the initial investment was recouped from sales, an electronic version was placed on the web last year, in order to maximise education and outreach potential.
In 2006, the Institute is seeking to publish a second book. Themes that were initiated in the first edition will be pursued further, new issues will be raised and new voices will be heard.
Submitted an essay in the past?
- Those who have submitted essays for book 1 which were not published are encouraged to indicate whether they would like their submission to be re-considered.
- Those who have submitted essays since book 1 was published will all be considered. The Institute apologizes for the delay.
- Those who have been published in book 1 are of course invited to reply to this call as well.
Proceeds and Copyright
Authors will maintain all intellectual property rights over their writings, but are asked to defer other publication until the book has been published.
