I encourage everybody to go through these three main forums when they come online,

Immortality Institute -This is a general forum that is ripe with awsome and underrated topics. Please do dig through them and add to these discussions.

Projects -There is a lot we can do in here. Add your ideas. We are all ready and willing to make projects move if we would only get all the resources into some discussion topics. Create your own or add some others.

Philosophy & Immortalism -I think most all these topics are excellent. Im sure Im not speaking for just myself when I write that I would like to see them all continued on. The philosophy of Immortalism is the inspiration that drives the action. I think Ive read every single one of these. Please do add more.

Please help me bump this topic when you can. Enhanced features to this end are under way. Stay tuned for that, it is going to be a lot more busy around this awsome web site. I cant find the topic that is going over it but if you have ideas for imminst features enhancement then voice your interest here and somebody will get you in on the conversation.

The Projects forum has been moved out of the full members area. Perhaps permissions have not been changed yet.

The Projects forum should now be open. I thought it would inherit the permission settings automatically. It did not.

Do did you guys look at what the material or did you just latch on the name "projects?"

That section contained closed and finished issues, treating them as current 'projects' makes little sense.

-- Mobius Award -- done
-- Business -- my baby, was deleted by BJ, partially restored never recovered
-- Betterhumans Discussion Forum -- private area for a cooperation that did not take off
-- NameChange -- done for the moment

I'm sorry but this needs re-arranging, I'll give it a try now.

Caliban, why can't this area have both old and new projects? A forum for projects sounds like a great way to categorize and consolidate activities.

As far as far as I am aware, the projects forum is the same as it has always been. It has just been moved to a more open location.

Perhaps we could have a sub-forum for finished projects? It would be great to have them around to draw inspiration, or to resurrect stalled projects.

Good idea, there is also one in the wiki. Some of us are working on firing up a few more projects in the wiki, once that happens it should also help to populate this slow moving projects section.

I would encourage everybody to fire up even more projects in there. If anybody needs a hand then let me know. Here is a good formula:

1. Add ideas to this google doc of life extension exposure expedition ideas.
2. When you have the time and desire to focus in more on one of the projects then form a small team to help you. You can ask me or ask for help pretty much anywhere. A good place to ask for it is in the roundtable brainstorming meetings.
3. Schedule a meeting with your team and discuss it and get everybody in on a some tasks.
4. Link the wiki project back to a corresponding topic in the projects forum, and whatever other neccessary topics, to discuss it and hold impromptu meetings through out the week.
5. If you get stuck on anything then ask for help in the forums and or brainstorming meetings.
6. Finish the project and catalogue it.

I forgot to add, "add it to the wiki" I modified it here.

Theres a lot of good topics in these three forums that I, and many others are waiting for more discussion to develop in. Ive probably got at least 30 topics that Im waiting for on all those first pages combined. If you could, please help us get these life extension action style topics going some more, please.

This song has been playing in my head while Ive been watching Aubrey videos and waiting for discussions to develop in imminst. "Silence, something about silence makes me sick, because silence can be violence sort of like a slit wrist."

I know a lot of us are waiting for the active topics feature to help us from being buried in the supplements and unrelated stuff, but in the mean time we can dig into topics via the forums. Please do,

Have you noticed that progressive life extension discussion in imminst moves at glacial speed? I try to help people like you energize it but it has been like trying to get a few 100 year old people to play basketball with you. Uhp, there Abe dropped the ball on his foot again and it has rolled off on another long digression. Now they are taking another half an hour break. Its been taking 3 weeks to make 2 baskets in a 30 minute pick up game. I know some people are busy a lot, but is every single life extensionist really this busy?

At a conservative average of 60 hour work week per member, 2 hours free time per day and 8 hours a day sleep, that equals 130 hours a week.

24x7 equals 168 hours in a week.

That equals 38 hours a week left over for imminst work per person.

Now I know that some people cant contribute, work 90 hours a week, have kids that keeping them busy, are doing to the science, are in school, have limited internet access, or whatever. Im not talking about every body. All Im saying is that with 8,000 members, maybe a lot of them are never coming back or whatever so lets just call it 1,000 members, at 38 hours average time per week after all those other factors are factored in, thats 38,000 hypothetical hours per week we could have put into the side of the aging war that imminst is taking on. Its a war, should we use available hours if we can? Yes, we should even work to make more hours, unless we are already using them for doing the science, agi or giving philanthropicly.

At a conservative estimate, theres 38,000 hypothetical hours to be had here, I just did the figure, thats astounding isnt it? And we dont even need that many, at least at this point. We could get by with 1% of that, just 38 hours (I think thats 1%, not sure) of commitment from all members combined per week. Now out of 38,000 hours, we should be able to scrape that many up right?

Im starvingly eager to be a part of the discussions in the topics like the ones that are in this topic, that are moving, but they arent moving. Please help move them. Topics like this one in particular: http://www.imminst.o...showtopic=26164 Ideas, development, comments, suggestions, volunteer time, constructive criticism, snide remarks, anything, Ide even be willing to take snide remarks at this point.

At 38,000 hours I can not beleive that the life extension action topics dont pour like the waters of a mighty waterfall around here. That could power the turbine of a generator that would harness a lot of energy and convert it into life extension progress. This dam is just waiting to break, I can sense it, can you all? Im just not sure why it hasnt yet.

If you have 2 hours of free time a day that is 14 hours a week per person not 38 hours a week per person.

But anyways you make a very good point, I made a similar point in the interneworking team section.

For a solution to the problem of inactive accounts maybe we could have a system in place that if you haven't logged in for about a month your name is taken of the list of members but if you happen to log in after that your name appears again?

We could have a member status called "activist" those would be the people that are working on projects. Is that already in place? I haven't checked.
